Company History:

The founder, Carl Van Rooy, started the company in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1977 and then expanded the business in 1982 to the Indianapolis area where the organization is recognized as Van Rooy Companies. The company started with only a few apartment units on college campuses and now operates over 11,000 units throughout the Midwest. Over the years, Carl has continued to diversify the business beyond its role as a leader in property management, and redevelopment. Carl is of the philosophy, “There are no miracles in this business. We get the job done with good common sense and hard work.” This philosophy starts at the top and permeates throughout the entire company.
 
In 1999 Adam Van Rooy, the son of Carl officially started at Van Rooy after graduating from Indiana University, Bloomington. In June of 2006 Adam took on the roll of president of Van Rooy Properties. Since Adams roll as President, the management company has grown by 40% and has entered into business in five other Midwest states. In April of 2006 Adam also started Van Rooy Restoration specializing in insurance restoration and renovation. Since 2006 VRR has consistently grown in sales starting locally out if Indianapolis and now doing business throughout the Midwest. Adam’s commitment to quality, integrity, and trust within the organization are what he attributes to the growth and success under his leadership at Van Rooy.
